This annual global design event, the ICFF (International Contemporary Furniture Fair), takes place for four days with more than 36,000 designers, architects, manufacturers and other design professionals.

Here are some newly discovered items that I found quite amazing:

First is Ledge Lounger. It’s a couch that is water proof.  This product is made from high quality materials that are designed to be in the water and under the sun. It’s easy to install, use and clean.

In water and in style, it’s a great practical product that has been long overdue.

Next is a company called Bend.

Bend Goods is a Los Angeles based design and manufacturing company. Founded by Gaurav Nanda, a sculptor and designer from Michigan. They design functional products  for home and public spaces. Their products are innovative and playful. From chairs to plant stands, baskets and dining tables among other things, these products are not just useful but also a creative work of art.

The use of multiple colors with carved wired sculptures make for the most exciting designed furniture available.

And, lastly, the Secto Design lighting collection is designed by internationally acclaimed architect and designer Seppo Koho, who has been with the company since 1995. Secto Design, based  out of Finland, creates amazing iconic wooden lamps with a clear and timeless Scandinavian feel. They are made by hand from Finnish PEFC-certified birch.

From hanging lamps to desk lamps, these product are made to have a natural feel of the forest which is an important part of the Finnish culture.  It has provided them with shelter and kept them alive. Trees, “green gold,” have been the Finns’ treasure.

Well, that’s my brief overview from some of the best designers making waves.
